Mr. Botsford is founder and partner at Botsford Global.  In this role, he has been instrumental in providing strategic advice to governments and businesses throughout the hemisphere.  

Mr. Botsford has assisted the firm in positioning itself as a reference for Latin America and the Caribbean.  He is a recognized expert on Latin America and the Caribbean, having frequently provided testimony to Committees of the U.S. Congress and State Legislatures; and conducts regular briefings at the request of many U.S. Government agencies and institutions. He has been interviewed by many media groups; including Bloomberg, Institutional Investor, Euromoney, La Nacion, Clarin, Cronista Comercial, among others throughout the world.

Prior to founding Botsford Global, Mr. Botsford was living in South America, problem solving for both governments and businesses.  He further developed his extensive negotiation skills and was instrumental in the privatization process that swept through the region.  In this capacity, Mr. Botsford was successful in opening up many economic sectors and freeing up governments to redirect resources to where they were most needed.

Before moving to the region, Mr. Botsford had been engaged in the petroleum sector in the U.S., working for Petrofina in Texas, a vertically integrated company, with exploration and retail operations worldwide.  Prior to this, he worked at Citibank in New York, in their merchant bank managing syndicated loans to Latin America.  

When Mr. Botsford  graduated from college, he was already a young professional at the Inter-American Development Bank, where he presented regional projects for board approval.  In this capacity, he was asked to teach international graduate students on how to present projects from their home countries to multilateral development banks.

Mr. Botsford graduated from the University of Maryland, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He received graduate certificates in International Business Finance from George Washington University, and Global Growth and Development from Georgetown University.  In addition, he is fluent in the Spanish language.

Mr. Botsford is married to Marcela Krieger Vasena, they reside in Washington, D.C., and have five children together.
